Babylon the Great has fallen, has fallen as prophesied .... However, the Scarlet Beast that carried her is still around.  Can this Scarlet Beast from the Book of Revelation be identified?

There are 2 beasts described in this last book of the Bible.  One is the Leopard Beast mentioned in Rev 13, and the other is the Scarlet Beast mentioned in Rev 17.

Although both beasts have 7 heads and 10 horns, they are NOT the same.  

The Leopard Beast is identified in unison with another beast -- a beast that looks like a lamb but speaks like a dragon; see  Mark of the Beast.  

The Scarlet Beast, however, carries the woman Babylon the Great on its heads.

In the file "Babylon the Great," we recognized that the 7th kingdom or head was the Ottoman/Turkish Empire, which allied itself with Germany in WWI.  When Germany lost WWI, the Turks lost most of their territories, including Iraq and Egypt.

In 1922, in the British Mandate for Palestine, the lands that were occupied before by the Ottomans  were now mostly under the rule of England.  It must be noticed that in this Mandate, the settlement of Palestine by Jewish immigrants was encouraged.  The approval of the mandate by the League of Nations (forerunner of the United Nations ) followed 2 months later.  

Therefore, the 8th head of the Beast was the British Empire, which in the 1800's after the defeat of Napoleon, became the pre-eminent world power.  At its summit, it was the Empire in which the sun never set.  Not even the Roman Empire had that. The British Empire had at one time 20% of the earth's land under its dominion -- countries such as Canada, India, and China.  It controlled the earth's oceans and gateways.  Before WWI,  the United Kingdom (UK) controlled 40% of the world's overseas investments, and the British pound sterling was the strongest currency in the world.

This 8th head is described in the Bible as "the beast that was and is not and yet will be."  This is due to the fact of the downfall and recovery of the 8th head.  After WWII, this 8th head suffered its downfall and re-emerged in one of its colonies.  Why is New York called New York?  Why do we have a place called New Hampshire?  Where does the name New England come from? 

The United States of America started to come out of the abyss in the 1800's.  It expanded its borders with the acquisition of Louisiana, Texas, and California.  With the Spanish American War of 1895, it started to expand beyond its continental landmass.  The oceans and gateways came to be under its rule.  It helped England during WWI and again during WWII.  The United States of America was during the 1950's and 1960's at its apex of world supremacy, but right now it is in a period of decadence.

Now that we know who the 8th head of the Scarlet Beast is, the question remains...What does the Bible say about it?

Revelation 17:3
So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet colored beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.

These ideas which started in England were exported to its colony, the United States of America.  In the beginning, these ideas of "evolution" were simply theories not embraced by most of society.  At the present time, though, they are taught as fact in most places of learning.  Science has replaced God.

In the United States of America it is illegal to talk about God in public schools.  Teachers cannot show a Bible on their desk, or Christian posters on the classroom wall.  It is illegal for teachers to present any geological evidence of Noah's flood, or of the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.  God has been thrown out of the school.

Without God there has been a tremendous increase in disrespect for authority because the main authority, God, is no longer here. Individuals do not  respect their parents,  their teachers, police, or any other authority.  People in general lie, cheat, steal, commit fornication, adultery, homosexuality, bestiality, gamble, and talk profanity.  All of these acts were at one time considered a crime and penalized in the United States of America.
Not any more.  

As a consequence, our daughters have become harlots, losing their virginity before puberty.  Our sons have become drug dealers and homosexuals.  We as a society have no honor; we have lost all shame.  No wonder God calls Babylon "THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH"  Revelation 17:5.

This modern Sodom and Gomorrah will suffer the same fate as the old. It goes to destruction.  And what is the future of this nation -- the 8th and last head of the Scarlet Beast?

The Bible says that the Scarlet Beast that was and is not and yet will be......goes into destruction.  The Greek word translated "destruction" is the word "apollyon."  This word has not been used in the Bible in reference to any of the other heads of the beast.  The reason is, the 7 previous heads fell, but were not destroyed.  They fell from rulership, but they still exist.  In contrast, the 8th head is completely destroyed.

Revelation 17:8
The beast that you saw was, and is not, and is about to come up out of the abyss and go to destruction. And those who dwell on the earth, whose name has  not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, will wonder when they see the beast, that he was and is not and will come.

Revelation 17:11
The beast which was and is not, is himself also an eighth and is out of the seven, and he GOES TO DESTRUCTION.

Look upon your cities now, for soon they will be ruins and scorched earth. The United States of America will shortly reap what it has sowed.

May you all repent and come out of Babylon and out of the Scarlet Beast.  Call on the name of the Lord Yeshua, our only savior and soon coming King.
