Few can imagine a government so repressive that it dictates how parents should rear their own children and tell us what is sin. Not even communist Russia came up with laws like this. California bill SB1172 bans reparative therapy for young gays.  It already did pass the assembly. The reparative therapy bill passed 23 to 13 in favor, on June 1, 2012 and will be on Jerry Brown's desk for him to sign. The new law says that any attempts to convert teens away from a homosexual lifestyle harms minors. Also, that it is illegal to do so.  

California law SB1172 states, and I quote.

"Being lesbian, gay, or bisexual is not a disease, disorder, illness, deficiency, or shortcoming."

Liberals have an idea that gayness is genetic and therefore not a choice. Also, that we should not attempt to help teens who want to stop sinning. Christians, this is the first ever such law making it illegal for parents to seek such therapy for their own children.

What do we see? Basically, our government is becoming more intrusive very year. They are trying to tell parents which therapies are proper. Lost is any concept of sin. In fact, stopping homosexual sin will soon become illegal in California

Democratic Senator Ted Lieu, who resides in Torrance, California, and who wrote bill SB1172, says reparative therapy amounts to "psychological abuse of children."

Truly our society does resemble Sodom and Gomorrah more and more. Expect God to treat us the same. Nothing is left of those two sinful cities except charred remains.

Interesting to me is that our government claims to have no money. Therefore they are doing less road repair. However, they find the time and money to tell parents how they need to educate their children with additional rules and regulations.

A nation that openly mocks God should not wonder when God curses us. The severe drought this year is just a foretaste of what is coming.

Politicians say that God loves sinners. However, they will rarely read what the Bible has to say.

Jude 1:7
Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

God speaks of the vengeance of eternal fire. Sadly, some Christians do not believe that hell is real. They doubt there is a literal lake of fire waiting for sinners.

If If it had not been for the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, our savior, we also would be thrown into that fire. Those who mock God will find that out very soon.

2nd Peter 2:6-8
And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly; And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)

God did save Lot, but Sodom is all burned up. This serves as a lesson for us.

We need to turn to God and follow His ways.
