Sinners

God can forgive sinners. Christ is his own son.  He can also forgive sin.

Matthew 9:2
And they brought to Him a paralytic lying on a bed. Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralytic, “Take courage, son; your sins are forgiven.”

Jesus give us this parable to help us see that God's wish is for us to live without sin. However, if sinners repent, then God can let them into His Kingdom of Heaven.

Matthew 21:28-32
But what do you think? There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first one and said, ‘Son, go and work today in the vineyard.’ ‘I will not,’ he replied. But later he changed his mind and went Then the man went to the second son and told him the same thing. ‘I will, sir,’ he said. But he did not go. Which of the two did the will of his father?” “The first,” they answered. Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, the tax collectors and prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God before you. For John came to you in a righteous way and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him.

Works

We shall be judged on our deeds, and what does that even mean?

1 Peter 1:17
And if you call on him as Father who judges impartially according to each one’s deeds, conduct yourselves with fear throughout the time of your exile,

God the Father judges us. His son Jesus gives us our reward according to our deeds - what we did while we were alive.

Romans 2:6
God will repay each one according to his deeds.

Basically, the works we have done while on earth is how God judges us.

Please remember that although God can forgive us of our sins... He wants us to do good works while we are here and that is what He judges us on.

2 Corinthians 5:10
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.
