Mirror

Yesterday, I went to the flea market, and I was looking for a bathroom mirror. Then it came to me. Why do people focus so much time and money... on their external appearance?

John 7:24
Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.

This world judges a book by its cover. Most people do place a major emphasis on external appearance. Often, they will spend money on Botox injections or plastic surgery. Maybe, this will help you if you are a sales rep. Still, we should look at what Christ said to the Pharisees.

Look at the words of Jesus.

Matthew 23:27
Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which on the outside appear beautiful, but inside they are full of dead men's bones and all uncleanness.

It is important that we obey God. Therefore we should stop sinning.

There is something positive about a mirror. It does not lie to us. Rather instead, it shows us as we really are.

Our Life

Fellow Christians, our life is not chasing after money.

Luke 12

14 Jesus replied, “Man, who appointed me a judge or an arbiter between you?”

15 Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”

16 And he told them this parable: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest.

17 He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.’

18 “Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain.

19 And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.”’

20 “But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’

21 “This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God.”

The key is to not be greedy and understand that we are here to do God's will.
