Drought in America

4th of July is just around the corner. However, all is not well in the United States of America. Outside it is like an oven. On June 30, 2012 it was 104 degrees in St. Louis and on July 1, 2012 it will be 106. Scorching heat is burning us. This situation in the Midwest is causing crops to fail as corn fields shrivel up. Drought threatens to increase food prices.

It has not rained in months. Part of the problem is that GMO corn needs a lot more water and fertilizer than traditional varieties. Older strains of corn are not affected as much by drought; however over 90% of our corn is GMO now.

Fields last year were lush and green. Sadly, they are brown and dying now. This year for the first time ever, the US might become a net importer of food. The world's bread basket is drying up.

People think we can go on sinning. Most feel that there will be no consequences. They do not believe in God, but in science. In fact, soon we will see that science cannot save us.

Plagues upon Us

For many years the USA has been favored with bountiful crops with which we have fed not only our nation, but the poor and the hungry all around the world.

But now that we have become a nation of ungrateful citizens who mock God almighty, those years of plenty will soon go away. God is sending plagues upon this country because we have turned away from Him.

Look at what God did to ancient Jerusalem.

Jeremiah 19
3 And say, Hear ye the word of the Lord, O kings of Judah, and inhabitants of Jerusalem; Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, the which whosoever heareth, his ears shall tingle.

4 Because they have forsaken me, and have estranged this place, and have burned incense in it unto other gods, whom neither they nor their fathers have known, nor the kings of Judah, and have filled this place with the blood of innocents;

Abortion truly is the blood of innocents. Friends, our nation has seen millions of babies slaughtered since abortion became legal. In fact, abortion is the leading cause of death in America. God is not happy with what He sees.

Right now, our president says he supports abortion and gay marriage. But for us Christians, the lesson of Sodom brings a sobering warning of how God deals with unrepentant sinners.

Most Christians realize that sarcastic remarks from our leader can anger God. The consequences will be terrible for us. Repent and turn to God.
