Revisionists in Action

"Gosford Park" -- a four stars out of five movie.  Is it really so?

The movie supposedly depicts England in the 1930's
and portrays the following events which were unheard of in the depression era:

1. Rich, highly educated men using the "F" word among each other.

2. These men talking profanity in front of women.

3. A rich woman asking her  "servant maid"  for personal information (gossip) about the other rich guests.

4. A rich woman having a one night affair with one of the guest's servants.

5. Homosexual affairs as part of normal life.

6. An invited guest  trying to rape a woman.

7. Gentlemen who did not open doors for ladies.

All of these events are common today, but they would have stood out like a rocketship in the 1930's.  This movie is historically inaccurate and is intended  to make the young generation that watches the film  to say:

2 Peter 3:4
... "Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation."

No, what we see nowadays is not as it was -- life was run at a much slower pace. People were nicer and friendlier. It was common to invite total strangers for a meal. Large groups would sing together. There was so little crime that people would not even lock their doors, but little by little history is being rewritten to show a much different past, to make believe a lie.

To find out how people were in the 1930's, or at any other time in the past, you need to read what was written in that time.   The movies done at a specific time reflect what the society is accepting as the norm.  Therefore, "Gosford Park" does not represent the 1930's, it represents 2002.  The moral depravity and obscene language that people are used to seeing today is what Hollywood is trying to purvey as the past.

No, all is not the same as from the beginning of creation.  The conditions are changing at an accelerated rate, and end-time prophecy is being fulfilled in your own lifetime!

The Words of the Apostle Peter

Books are being revised2 Peter 3:1
This is now, beloved, the second letter I am writing to you in which I am stirring up your sincere mind by way of reminder,

2 Peter 3:2
that you should remember the words spoken beforehand by the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior spoken by your apostles.

2 Peter 3:3
Know this first of all, that in the last days players in sports  will come with their sports playing, going their way

2 Peter 3:4
and saying, "Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation."

The original Greek word in 2 Peter 3:3 is "eupaigmone" "players in sports". The apostle Peter was inspired to write about this time.  It is only now that sport athletes are looked upon as heroes and idolized.

History is nowadays being rewritten.  This lie is being perpetrated in libraries, schools, and the media.

The old books are discarded, and new books are introduced that lie about the past -- in order to make it possible for this generation to say "all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation."

But things have changed;   in the 1950's the three worst problems in schools were {running in the halls, chewing gum, and cutting classes} in the 1980's the worst problems were {murders, rapes, and drugs}.  In order to deal with these problems schools became prisons with armed guards and video cameras;  all we need now is razor wire.

Even as late as the 1980s, school kids could bring pocket knives to school (most every kid had one).  Now you can not even bring a nail cutter with you.  It is a dangerous weapon!

Freedom of speech is gone because they claim it is hate speech, freedom of assembly is gone because they claim it is a gang, and freedom of religion is gone because they claim it is a cult.

No, the past was much saner, and freer than the time we live in now, and certainly more than the future we are heading into.

Pray for Christ's  soon return!
